mBraining is informed by NLP, in the same way as it is informed by many other fields. Where mBraining is significantly different than NLP is that mBIT coaching works with the gustatory (gut) and olfactory (heart) intelligences in a way which NLP tends not to do. With that said, there are important parallels between the fields and many NLP professionals see mBraining as a natural supplement to their NLP toolbox.
All new coaches are invited to join our active and vibrant closed Facebook-group, where mBIT coaches all over the world share their experiences, seek inspiration. This is also the place where new research is shared. In addition, there are many practice groups and peer groups of mBIT coaches in local communities. Your mBIT Trainer will be able to tell you more about what initiatives are running locally in your area.
No, mBIT coaching is a set of standalone techniques that allow you to facilitate an alignment between the head, heart and gut. Some people who take our mBIT coach certifications are certified in other coaching techniques when they take the course, whilst for others this is their introduction to coaching. We see it as a great strength of our community that we have such a diverse range of professionals applying the mBraining techniques to so many different fields. It allows the techniques to stay up to date and relevant for everyone.
The 4-day mBIT coach certification can count as CCEU points for ICF certified coaches, however this is only the case if your local mBIT Trainer has obtained this approval directly from the ICF. It is therefore a good idea to ask your mBIT Trainer whether the training they run is eligible for CCEU points.
If you are curious about the research that underpins the development of the mBIT coaching techniques, it is a good idea to read the book “mBraining: Using Your Multiple Brains To Do Cool Stuff”. The references to the book are listed in an Excel sheet which you can download here .
mBraining specialises in aligning the intelligence of the head, heart and gut. As a result, it is a powerful technique for reaching alignment when we experience that feeling of being “torn” internally. We all know that feeling of our heart wanting something, but we don’t think this option is rational (head brain). Or that feeling of knowing what we want but we still struggle to take action (gut brain) towards that goal. These types of internal conflicts manifest themselves in vastly different walks of life; from career coaching, organizational leadership, personal development and so many more. mBIT coaching is especially powerful in reaching alignment in a gentle but profound way when working through these.
mBIT is short for multiple Brain Integration techniques and signifies the suite of coaching techniques developed to align the three intelligences of the head, heart and gut.
mBIT coaching can work as a standalone coaching technique and it can also work as a supplement to a number of other technique for coaching and therapy. mBIT coaching is ideal for people who want to make breakthroughs in changing habits or patterns, making change in their life, and who want to do so with alignment and congruence.
